Stage two- HIV/AIDS strategy

INFORMATION FROM: NEW YORK TIMES

There are many different diseases and problems that the American people have to deal with. One major problem is the increase of HIV/AIDS infections. This harmful infection changes peoples lives daily. Once a person has HIV/AIDS they cannot get rid of it. It is stuck with them for life, and they have to suffer thorough treatment and the pain of people finding out. Discomforts such as finding the "one" that will love you even though you have this disease, not giving it to others, and the reality of spending well earned money on treatment.
Recently president Obama has addressed this issue. In his new strategy he has said he wants to cut HIV by 25% per year. He called for more federal spending on the study of HIV/AIDs. President Obama also called for health officials to dedicate more time and studying to control the growing disease.
Many groups of people have to deal with the discrimination of having AIDS/HIV. Obamas goal is to reduce the epidemic, while also increasing peoples civil rights. "We are all created equal."
